Hawkins & Ball has been in existence, in one incarnation or another, since 1973 when Steve Ball was first licensed as a psychologist in Texas. We began in Dallas as Interbehavioral Systems Associates. We moved the practice to Commerce and Greenville, Texas, a few years later to be closer to Steve’s “other job,” which is professing psychology at Texas A&M University – Commerce (formerly East Texas State University). He’s worked at that one continuously since 1970. Now exclusively based in Commerce, the practice has been Hawkins & Ball for some time.
Our subtitle, “Counseling, Assessment, Advocacy, Research, Consultation,” reflects the broad range of things that we can do. Psychotherapy and counseling, with children, adolescents, and adults, and with individuals, families, and groups form one of our mainstays, as does psychological assessment, including court-ordered evaluations. We will advocate for children in schools, and we can consult about or carry out psychological research.
Because we are small, so is our overhead, and we pass that savings on to our clients. We’ll provide the documentation so you can file a claim with your insurance company, but that is up to you. Our fees are lower because we do not spend a lot on administrative help for insurance, or much of anything else. Notwithstanding, we are professionals who are committed to providing our clients the very best service we can at a fair price.
